Operatiing Principle

The process of Electrodeionisation - ION selective membranes operate using the same principle as the Resins, but they are used to isolate ions from their counterions.

Anion selective membranes are pemeable to anions, but not to cations, and cation selective membranes are to cations, but not to anions. By spacing alternating layers of anion and cation selective membranes, both diluting and concentrating compartments are created under the influence of a DC potential. Thus as the water moves through the diluting compartment
